Maintaining a Healthy Computer (Windows XP, Vista and 7 Users)

Maintaining a healthy computer is certainly essential.  The first thing you can do is to get an antivirus program.  I recommend obtaining a decent antivirus such as AVG, Norton or VIPRE.  Honestly out of all of them, VIPRE is the finest antivirus I have ever tested.  VIPRE picked up almost every single virus I can think of.  Some of these viruses include the W32.Pilleuz!gen19, Backdoor.Teambot, W32.Waledac.B!gen1, W32.Virut and many more.  You can purchase or try it for 30 days here: www.sunbeltsoftware.com/home-home-office/vipre/.  To maintain your registry’s health, I would recommend getting AVG PC Tuneup 2011.  AVG PC Tuneup will scan your registry for any problems and fix them afterwards.  It will also remove junk files and temp. files to free up space on your hard drive.  Overall, AVG PC Tuneup 2011 will not only help your computer run faster but help maintain order within the registry.   You can get the program here: www.avg.com/us-en/avg-pctuneup.  Finally, to make sure your computer is organized, you should run a defrag. every 1-2 months.  You can do this by going to My Computer then right-clicking on your C: Drive.  Go to properties and then click on the tab that says tools, then click defragmentation.  This is the basics of keeping your computer running for years to come J.
